Whats the difference between perfume, eau de perfume, and eau de toilette?

I wanted to buy Coco mademoiselle, and I saw that the perfume which was .25oz was 100 bucks while the eau de toilette was about $77.

Thanks :)Whats the difference between perfume, eau de perfume, and eau de toilette?
You'd be better off buying the eau de toilette or eau de parfum, since they will last much longer over time and are less expensive. I have both of those from Coco Mademoiselle, and the toilette is much lighter and fresher. But the eau de parfum lasts longer and has a richer form of the scent. However it may be too intense on your skin. Try to get samples of both and after a week buy the one you like the most. I would test both on your skin and choose a small bottle to start off. Like a 1 oz or 1.7 oz. The difference between all three are the concentration of perfume oils used. The parfum has 25-30% perfume oil, and the others are diluted by alcohol and water. But they are pretty strong on their own, so I would buy one of the other two.Whats the difference between perfume, eau de perfume, and eau de toilette?
It has to do with the concentration of oil in the fragrance. More oil makes the fragrance last longer, hence why it is more expensive. Eau de parfum is the highest concentration while eau de toilette is less concentrated.
the most expensive is the stuff that isnt watered down and will last alot longer you will also need to apply less than you would with the eau de toilette which is watered down and wont last long ...
Eau de Toilette means ';Cosmetic water'; in English and it reffers to a product based on perfume oil in the fragrance industry.

Perfume oil must be diluted with a solvent because undiluted oils (natural or synthetic) contain high concentrations of volatile components that will likely result in allergic reactions and possibly injury when applied directly to skin or clothing.

This process leads to several products which are different in perfume concentration (hence more lasting or more volatile).

Eau de Toilette (EdT) has a concentration of 5-20% (typical ~10%) aromatic compounds (which is lower than Eau de Parfum EdP having 10-30% (typical ~15%) aromatic compounds) so it is cheaper but it lasts for less time.

I noticed the difference in price is of about 40% between EdP and EdT..but I must admit it (Eau de Parfum) lasts much longer than EdT.

If you want a day fragrance, go with EdT especially if you like strong fragrances.

For evening, choose EdP, it will last the entire night ;)
I'll assume that you are talking about the difference between eau de parfum and eau de toilette. The difference between the two is the concentration of alcohol and oils. Parfum contains more oils in it than toilette, which makes it have a strong scent, and usually the scent will last longer than toilette. Eau de toilette is less expensive because it has less perfume oils in it and it has a lighter scent that doesn't last as long.
see... I was going to be a smart alec and say the price...lol
