When choosing a perfume, what is the difference between an eau de parfume & eau de toilette?

All the girls who answered that eau de parfum has a stronger oil content are right. So if you want a good quality perfume that will last all day and beyond, fish out the extra dough. When choosing a perfume, what is the difference between an eau de parfume %26amp; eau de toilette?
# Eau de parfum: 10-30% aromatic compounds

# Eau de toilette: 5-20% aromatic compoundsWhen choosing a perfume, what is the difference between an eau de parfume %26amp; eau de toilette?
A fragrance is a blend of extracts, alcohol and water, each perfume characterised by the ratio of ingredients. A perfume has a different concentration of extracts to an Eau de Toilette. Perfume has the highest concentration, followed by Eau de Parfum and Esprit de Parfum. Though they are less concentrated, the two latter fragrances leave an intense lingering scent. Eau de Toilette is much lighter, with the least concentrated fragrance being Eau de Cologne.
eau de toilette is a watered down version of Parfume. That is why it is so much cheaper.
good question. i dont have the answer tho. its no big deal just some crazy french bull
Perfume is stronger. Toilette water has the same scent, but is lighter.
that is a good question. what is the difference i hope some1 knows. i wish i did!
Eau de parfume has a higher percentage of the oil/essence that makes the scent, so it's longer lasting.
Eau de Parfum is the most concentrated, and thus, costs more. Eau de Toilette is the most ';watered down'; version of any perfume.
Perfumes generally come in three different types

1. Parfume-this is the real thing, not watered down, and is usually really expensive.

2. Eau de parfume is a little weaker than the parfume, and is a little less expensive.

3. Eau de toilette is the weakest of the fragrance, and it is the least expensive you can buy.

A great deal of the perfumes out there are eau de toilette.
Toilet water or eau de toilette, is a lighter version of the actual perfume.
The eau de toilette is the original name for perfume (back in the 1700's). The French perfected perfume and except for the poor, everyone used it (they only bathed once a month, if that).

As newer companies came along they had to distinguish from the old style and newer and more powerful parfumes that you could use less and get same odor. Therefore the eau de parfume for the better product.

Some brands (types?) of eau de toilette were used on several parts of the body.
